"We are Conduits of Light here to Inspire Transformation" - Jemma
Lets face it. We are all Game changers.
At some point we have realized that there is more to this journey we call life than meets the eye.
Once we step onto our path it, it can often be very challenging and we wonder why the hell we signed up in the first place!!
But we have come for a reason. And we are all in this together.
Isn't that awesome?!
Sign up for my weekly Inspiration and lets work together and play together to build a strong community of support and Love to help each other SHINE our light out into the world, where it is needed most.
To be the Conduits of Love and Light that inspire transformation and contribute to the happiness of all beings.
This morning I made the pilgrimage to Tanits Cave in Ibiza. Tanit is the Goddess of the Island. She was, and still is, the Goddess of sexuality, fertility and transformation. Ibiza was her Island until the Roman emperor Vespasian suppressed her following in AD74.
To this day Tanit is still worshiped in Ibiza, and her Cave Temple remains a sanctuary where ritual and ceremony is still regularly practiced.
This island has abundantly showered with me so many blessings this summer and I have called on Tanits assistance many times in my work. She has always obliged me with her grace and beauty, so today I needed to meet her essence, in her Temple. And say Thankyou.
Much like my experience at Glastonbury Tor, finding the cave was a mission in itself. Intuitively guided (but thrown off he scent by google maps!! Don’t trust technology over your heart..) we made the pilgrimage up the Sacred crystal Mountain to her temple.
Before entering I offered a k’intu - 3 coca leaves to give gratitude for having been invited and to ask permission to enter. The energy was thick with thousands of years of ritual and ceremony. There was a sweet, yet powerful presence. I could feel the devotion to the beautiful Priestess embedded into the limestone caverns. Offerings of all kinds lovingly placed throughout the temple cave.
Earlier, making the pilgrimage up the mountain to the cave, I had heard music. An angelic lullaby that instilled a feeling of reverie within me. As soon as I entered the cave, the melody that came to me, began to come from within me. A beautiful song that vibrated in the cave walls.
I set about making my offerings. Using my Medicine cup, I cleansed my self from the pool of crystalline water gathered on cave floor. I prayed to Tanit - asking for strength and renewed vitality, thanking her for her guardianship, I prayed for blessings for a clear and safe path ahead. Then I went about opening my Mesa and offering Sacred Smoke.
It’s amazing you know. Without even ‘thinking’ about it I just somehow knew what to do. I had no knowledge of protocols, rights or wrongs. I simply felt into my heart, got my mind out of the way and trusted that my hands knew exactly what to do. I noticed the mind jump in at one point trying to make me question what I was intuitively guided to do. Cheeky mind. This is how it operates and holds us back from really trusting ourselves and our innate wisdom.
It’s all within us. So many times I’m asked - how did you learn what you know to do in Ceremony? Honestly - I find it a challenge to answer. My Maestros never sat me down and ‘taught’ me anything. In fact they showed me frustratingly little! 😂 But that was the point. As a student we must learn to watch. To observe absolutely everything. To practice. To know and trust ourselves. To ask what we need to know yes, but more importantly to develop such a deep connection with ourselves and the beings that support us though our prayers that it’s actually the beings we are praying to that guide us to our inner wisdom and teach us from within. They give us the keys that if we trust, will unlock what we most want and need to know.
I can actually say that often the beings have shown me the rituals, THEN I’ve had the ritual confirmed by my teachers. Amazing. It’s because the wisdom is a universal truth that resides in the fabric of existence. We only need to learn to tap into it and trust what we hear, see and feel. The way the ancients did. It’s all the same wisdom.
If we stand back and wait til we have perfected something - we will be waiting forever. We are never done learning so we may as well be humbly but confidently practicing what we know so our knowledge in action becomes the authentic wisdom we seek.
I shared my song with a beautiful local woman, the guardian of the cave. I loved that she was so enthralled at this blonde lady, carrying an Andean tradition, making offerings and singing lullaby’s in her Goddesses temple. She didn’t care for protocol. She only cared for the humility and purity of heart she could see in me. So much so that she gave me her phone number and told me next time I come, even out of opening hours, to call her and she will open the temple to me. I offered to share a Despacho offering next time I come. She was beside herself with excitement at the prospect.
So I’m already preparing for my next visit to Tanits Temple, and in the meantime I will carry her essence in my Mesa (she gifted me some khuyas - sacred stones) and deeply in my heart.
I feel I have received another string in my bow on my Path as a Present day Priestess.
Thank you Tanit and Ibiza, for your abundant blessings and generous Love.
