"We are Conduits of Light here to Inspire Transformation" - Jemma
Lets face it. We are all Game changers.
At some point we have realized that there is more to this journey we call life than meets the eye.
Once we step onto our path it, it can often be very challenging and we wonder why the hell we signed up in the first place!!
But we have come for a reason. And we are all in this together.
Isn't that awesome?!
Sign up for my weekly Inspiration and lets work together and play together to build a strong community of support and Love to help each other SHINE our light out into the world, where it is needed most.
To be the Conduits of Love and Light that inspire transformation and contribute to the happiness of all beings.
If any of my beautiful friends reading this follow me on social media then maybe some of you have been introduced to my vibrant alter ego, Shaman Barbie, and are wondering what the banana this business is all about..
It actually began when I was 17 and was actually employed as a Barbie!!! Like really.. my first real (and very well paying job!) was to dress up like a Barbie doll and go around to big events like home shows and the like and put on performances, entertaining the kids.
I learned how to do the Barbie bus stop and even had a flashing light on my Barbie belt (seriously, you can stop laughing now 🤣) the whole thing was really quite hysterical. Then after the show hundreds of kids would line up to have me , Barbie, autograph their Barbie memerobillia. I got very good at signing autographs!! And yes, there was a Ken.
I even ended up in a national magazine with a superimposed dolls house around a picture of me, Barbie, lounging on a Barbie couch. Good lord..
Anyway, years later as I travelled through South America, I'd be walking down the street minding my own business and little girls would literally stop and stare at me, tug on their parents arm and say 'mumma, look it's Barbie!!!' 🤣🤣🤣
And so, last year when I was in the Sacred Valley in Peru, we unexpectedly went hiking one day. I thought we had only come to the town we were in to drink Chicha, (a personal favourite of Shaman Barbie's) so I didn't bother bringing anything to walk in the mountains. The nature of life here is so spontaneous and playful that of course, we end up hiking a huge mountain, up an Inka trail to a very beautiful and sacred temple.
All I had to hike in were my 'Cusco' boots (my fancy pants camel coloured boots with a heel) tight high wasted jeans, fitted top, Alpacka vest, traditional style hipster looking hat, and a very cool and colourful rainbow scarf woven in a nearby mountain side community. And a matching bag.. of course..
Teetering up and sliding down the mountain in my Cusco boots, blonde hair blowing in the wind, rainbow coloured scarf dazzling, I was looking quite fabulous for mounting climbing!!!
I work shamanically here too with ancient traditions and medicines, guided by my teachers, so I had all of my 'shamanic' tools.. an antique chumpe around my waist (hot pink and totes matching my outfit of course!! ) to protect my 'cosco' (navel centre) from taking on heavy energies, a stack of mapacho (Sacred tobacco) for clearing and blessing, Agua Florida (Andean flower water) to move heavy energies, a limpiador (smudge fan) of Condor and hummingbird feathers amongst other shamanic tools.
The absurdity of the whole thing struck me as I walked down the mountain and I began to laugh hysterically as I shared my Barbie story with my amiga's. Suddenly it struck me that here I was with this hysterical alter ego of Shaman Barbie.
Needless to say we absolutely rolled down the mountain as the laughter flowed well into the night. There's nothing quite like being able to have a good laugh at yourself. It was awesome.
And so Shaman Barbie was born..
So why now is Shaman Barbie continuing her adventures?
Because it gives me a chance to lighten up and not take myself (or my spirituality) so seriously.
I feel like it's so easy to get stuck in spiritual ego, we have sometimes forgotten how to just have fun!!!
Shaman Barbie is very good at this. She is quite innocent and humble in her ways - a little naive perhaps. Ok, she's blonde.. what can I say.. Yet, she is very serious about her work. And she loves to look good while she's at it. Hey, what girl doesn't??! 😳🤣
As my friend Danni just said to me, 'I love it that you can post about our Maestro his majesty Apu Salkantay in one minute and completely take the mickey out of yourself in the next. That you can receive the beautiful insights, realisations and awakenings in one moment and totally have a laugh in the next.'
I reckon this is the path of the master.
Being open to receive the teachings, the wisdom and the gifts of the masters, walking them in our lives, and still have a bloody good laugh!!!
Shaman Barbie keeps it real.
She knows how to be playful and light, in a world where it's way too easy for us to take ourselves to seriously.
I hope you enjoy her adventures as much as I do.
Oh and did I mention, like all good Barbie dolls, the plethora of accessories she comes with is simply amazing!!! All totes required when working with the unseen world, helping people to process like a sausage, warding of unwanted spirits, retrieving souls and generally just looking fabulous while she does so...
Go Shaman Barbie. You're my hero...
