THE ART OF SOUL RETRIEVAL

Soul loss..it can leave you feeling exhausted, aimless and despondent.

How does this even occur?

On one level, it’s a perfectly natural part of our human journey. Our first major trauma is the birthing process. The struggle literally to be born into Life, the shock of arriving into a bright, loud world. The cutting of our life line (the umbilical cord) and that first giant breath in of this new element called ‘air’! And then.. with that first breath, we instantly take in all of the processes of our parents, then eventually our family and our community.

Why? Because it's a part of our service. We are natural born healers

But in this moment of shock, and any other moment of shock that follows during our life big or small, pieces of our Soul (or unintegrated parts of the inner child) will split off in search of a safe place to hide.

Usually they will go into Pachamama or somewhere in the Cosmos that is familiar and safe.

This can also happen when we experience something delightful, visit a place or have an experience that feels like home. So much so we don’t want to return.

It is normal after a Medicine journey, for example, for the physical body to feel tired. It has done a lot of work, received a lot of information to integrate and if there is underlying exhaustion it can and usually will be brought up to the surface to be released and healed.

But if there is something disturbing happening where you are feeling vulnerable and it’s hard to ground, sometimes a Soul retrieval may be necessary.

A simple Soul Retrieval you can practice for yourself is -

1. Place a hand on your heart and one on your belly
2. Call your own name 3 times with conviction saying "return, return, return this is your body, your temple, you are safe, you are loved."
3. Followed by “I AM" and your name 3 x times.
4. You can do this simple exercise with children too.
5. You can pray the above, with their name, into their favourite food and give it to them to eat.
6. The Soul parts go into the food and are integrated once the child eats it.

If you’d like to understand this process more deeply from the Andean Shamanic perspective then Maestro Puma and I would be delighted for you to join us for our free masterclass.

MAESTRO PUMA

Puma Fredy Quispe Singona began training with his grandfather, the late Don Maximo, after an initiation by lightning at the age of six — learning and mastering the Andean traditions and rituals by connecting with ancestral spirits, cosmic forces, and natural elementals.

He has worked deeply with direct lineages of the Huachuma plant from the coast of Peru and with Ayahuasca, the sacred plant of the Amazonian Shipibo people. Puma conveys a passion for the ancestral Incan teachings with a profound respect for Pachamama (Mother Earth) and plant medicine supporting our global consciousness awakening.

As a young adult, he attended and facilitated international gatherings of spiritual leaders and young leaders with YES (Youth for Environmental Sanity,) and has been featured in books and films about the Andean medicine path. Along with the team from his tour company, Pumadventures, he gathers groups from around the world for spiritual pilgrimages to visit sacred sites for self-transformation and rebirth processes.

He created and built Noqan Kani Global Community Center in his hometown village of Chinchero, where the local people, as well as the greater global community, can study and learn about these ancient teachings, keeping the timeless Andean ways, culture, and nature-based wisdom alive for generations to come. Puma’s mission is to continue his grandfather’s legacy by sharing the wisdom and the medicine of his ancestral Indigenous culture in his own unique, inspiring, and heartfelt way.
